The Details
Coalition on the Environment and Jewish Life Party for the Planet (Friends of Live Earth)
Boston COEJL (Coalition on the Environment and Jewish Life, coejl.org) is sponsoring a "Party for the Planet"/Live Earth concert viewing on a giant-screen TV for the Jewish community and guests from 7-11 p.m. at Tifereth Israel, 539 Salem St., Malden (off Rt. 60, near Rts. 1 and 93). MoveOn.org and former Vice President Al Gore are urging Americans to hold "Parties for the Planet" on this date to watch the "Live Earth" concert and listen to special remarks from Gore. $3 admission includes Kosher dairy pot-luck buffet (Kosher food contributions and/or laptops for additional viewing are welcome). COEJL is nonprofit; proceeds go to food, materials and Temple Tifereth Israel's maintenance expenses. Dancing to Live Earth bands is encouraged!
Boston COEJL members will be on hand to distribute information, discuss the statewide Massachusetts Synagogues Pledge to Green, the Green Guide for Massachusetts Synagogues and suggest ways by which individuals and organizations can become more earth-friendly. The concert will be broadcast on varied media - we will likely watch NBC's 8-11 pm coverage. For directions, please visit templetiferethisrael.org.
RSVPs to David Cohen at dxcohen@aol.com are appreciated by Thursday July 5, but not required. For more information, please contact Susie Davidson at Susie_d@yahoo.com, Robin Reiner at riverpines@comcast.net or Boston COEJL at BostonCOEJL@gmail.com. Contact Tifereth Israel at (781) 322-2794. For information on LiveEarth, please visit LiveEarth.org. For more information on COEJL, please visit coejl.org.
Temple Tifereth Israel is handicapped-accessible.
